Stevie Wonder will receive the Spirit of Hope Award

Stevie Wonder will working to receive the Spirit of Hope Award from the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation on October 29.

Syreeta Wright was a first wife of Wonder, who died from complications resulting from breast cancer.

Michelle Cole, communications coordinator for the foundation in the fight against cancer help appreciated surprise.

"Stevie Wonder has actively pursued numerous philanthropic endeavors throughout his illustrious career. Stevie Wonder's past efforts embody the true spirit of hope."

Wonder himself had praised the Chief for the basis.

"Cancer has touched someone in all of our lives. It is my hope that, by continuing to raise awareness and research funds through events like this, we can play a role in helping the MMRF bring patients new treatments that will extend their lives."

Lance Armstrong, Sharon Osbourne, Diana Krall and Cindy Crawford are the previous recipients for the awards.
