Stevie Wonder surprised students at a university in New Orleans

Stevie Wonder on Thursday in New Orleans, Louisiana with an impromptu performance in a university students is a surprise (12May11) as an honorary degree he received in the center.

Stevie Wonder To Appear At Armenian Genocide Victim Show


A series of shows to support the victims of the Armenian Genocide has been confirmed by Stevie Wonder, The news comes via the Russia-based Yerkramas newspaper.

These concerts, titled "Never Again," will finish in 2015, which will be the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Genocides in Rwanda, Cambodia and Sudan will be emphasize by all the artists and participants.

"Something that may not be done through the power of politics can be done through the power of music," said Anush Hovsepyan.

On April 17, 2011 first set of the show to honor these victims will be held at Hollywood's Universal City Gibson Amphitheatre. Stevie Wonder will be performing alongside Canadian musician David Foster and famous Armenian singer Flora Martirosyan.

Obama to honor Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder, whose song "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm yours" became a theme for President Barack Obama's campaign, will be honored by the White House with a gig this month.

The White House says the president and First Lady Michelle Obama will present Wonder with a Library of Congress award on Feb. 25.

The gig will be put on air the next day on PBS. Wonder grew up in Detroit and signed with Motown when he was 13.

He presented at the 2008 Democratic National Convention on the night Obama received his party's nomination. He also presented at a gig during the week of Obama's investiture.

Stevie Wonder In Performance At The White House

The Second Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song to Stevie Wonder has been presented by President Barack Obama at this special concert in the East Room of the White House in celebration of African American History Month.

A tribute has been given to those songs of Stevie Wonder which topped the charts internationally.

Performers along with Stevie Wonder himself include Tony Bennett, Diana Krall. Will I Am, Kathleen Battle and more.

The Library of Congress created the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song to honor artists whose creative output transcends distinctions between musical styles and idioms, bringing diverse listeners together, and fostering mutual understanding and appreciation.

Stevie Wonder to be Named into Apollo Legends Hall of Fame


Stevie Wonder will be honoring by The Apollo Theater Legends Hall of Fame.On June 13, 2011 the singer and musician will be inducted.

Stars like Ella Fitzgerald, James Brown and Smokey Robinson has been honored by the Theater previously.Last year, Aretha Franklin and Michael Jackson were inducted.

Wonder who had received the most number of Grammys including over 30 U.S. top ten hits.The Apollo is of special significance as he made his debut at the famous theater in 1962 at age 12.

As in the past, the induction will include performances and an awards ceremony.

Stevie Wonder Gives Charity To School


A giant novelty cheque to Red Hot Chili Pepper’s Flea for the Silverlake Conservatory of Music has been provided by Stevie Wonder.

In Los Angeles in 2001 the Flea started the Conservatory.

To hand over a giant novelty cheque to the tune of $10,000,Stevie Wonder appeared at the school this week.

Flea posted a snap of Stevie with the cheque at the school on his Twitter account today.

Flea has created a Crowdrise account for people to contribute to the school.
